     When people ask me why I bought my Cricut Maker 3 I always say something like "well I like crafting so it just made sense", but what most people don't realize is you can utilize a Cricut even if crafting specifically isn't for you, alongside many reasons why a Cricut will "up" the crafts you already produce. Below are my top 5 reasons why you should buy a Cricut. 

  1. You can use 300+ materials

When it comes to the number of materials you can cut with a Cricut Maker 3, you are sure to find a use for this machine. Do you need company shirts made? USE iron-on vinyl. Are you a cake decorator and want to spice up your cake toppers? Use acrylic sheeting or various types of cardstock. Are you a fashion designer? Use your machine to cut fabric and leather pieces. The list can go on, but I think you get the point.

  1. It’s a huge time saver! 

When you don’t have to fuss with scissors and get those really intricate details, you save a lot more time than you realize. I cut a stencil for a sign last week that would have taken many hours to cut out with scissors, only after tracing it which would have taken even longer, in about 3 minutes with Cricut Smart Vinyl. So if time is money, or just something you don’t want to waste, this machine is for you.

Cricut Design Space also has Cricut Access that which is $9.99 a month and gives you access to ready-to-make projects with step-by-step instructions, as well as other fonts, images, and shapes.

  1. The cutting force and size of the machine can’t be compared

 The cutting force of the Cricut Maker 3 is around 7 pounds, meaning it can cut right through leather, thin wood, and thin acrylic sheets. The size of the machine is less than 2 feet long and a little over half a foot deep, meaning it’s very tabletop friendly. The length of materials you can cut varies based on if you're using a mat or Smart Materials. If you’re using a mat, it’ll be a 24-inch max cut, with the Smart Materials you can cut up to 12 FEET.

 When you’re using the Cricut Maker 3, you can use tools like a knife blade, deep cut blade, embossing/debossing tools, an etching tool, as well as many others. With these tools, you can use the Quik Swap Housing Blade which allows you to quickly change tools for an even faster project time.

5 Projects Anyone Can Make With a Cricut!

There are a number of materials you can use with your Cricut, for almost any craft you may need and you can read about it in my last blog post here . Today, I want to share my favorite projects I have made with my machine as well as walk you through what materials you would need to complete the project. Stencils for a painted design This project can be customized to your liking in Cricut Design Space by adding additional words, customizing a name, or adding shapes, or you can use a ready-to-make project. This project was made from a wood canvas from any craft store. I got mine here . This project stencil can be cut with either normal removable vinyl or stencil vinyl. In my opinion, stencil vinyl isn’t worth the money, use contact paper instead if anything. You will also need a host of tools like a pick to take out the reverse details you won’t need for your stencil.
